Bob is retired from the computer industry where he had a long and varied career in software and architecture. He put his extensive computer and network experience to work at the Foundation and has a very positive effect on our operations.

  • IBM 1956-1969 Architecture & Software of early Packet Switch, PARS/Sabre, BiSynchronous Transmission Protocol Architecture Committee, Msg eSwitch Nets, etc. for pioneering IBM networking systems, Prototyping the IBM 7030 Stretch Instruction Processing Unit (IBOX)
  • Measurex 1969-1972 Chief Programmer & author of 1st production Paper Process Control production software
  • HP 1972-1974 Section Mgr, Network OS Software management for HP2000 & HP 3000 series systems
  • Pacific Western Systems 1974 Pioneering Microprocessor based, high-speed integrated Circuit Memory tester & numeric control systems for multi-axis machining tools. Designed and implemented the first 8080 based assembly language Wire Wrap Design program. “Real Time Simulation of the Architecture of Microprocessor-based High Speed Integrated Circuit Memory chip test system (IEEE Test Symposium, Cherry Hill NJ 1974).  Design of microprocessor-based, general purpose IO device development driver using “Tiny Basic” to drive edxperimental IO devices and networks.
  • Almaden Systems 1974-1980 Consulting – continued development of MP based tester, special applications systems & software for semiconductor test areas at several manufacturers.
  • Remote consulting engineering of bios for Digital Research and their customers, auditing other engineering software for DRI.
  • Custom terminal firmware and network design & implementation for major Thrift institutions’s network (Dial Finance, Beneficial Finance, Service Bureau(CDC)).
  • Almaden Systems, Inc 1980-1983 General partner and technology contractor for Limited Partnerships developing disk drive hardware and software interface add-ons for 8 bit microprocessor computers that utilized DRI’s CPM operating system.
  • Valley Data Systems 1983-1986 Director of software development for a very smart, computer controlled general device programming product.
  • Seagate 1986-1996 Senior Engineering Manager/ Director of Company’s Production Test software. World-wide responsibilities for developing tests & test processes for all products for all divisions.
  • Coastek Infosys 1996-1997 VP of Engineering and Finance. Responsible for ‘holding genius’s feet to the fire’ to meet schedues. Also had to buy the genius a Ferarri. Performed all of the pre-VC legal and corporate organization, the legalese to techie translation of term sheets and all other information from VC & our lawyers. Provided all due-dilligence info for the funding.
  • Polygenesys, Inc – 1997-1999 President for German- owned software company in Silicon Valley. Developed and gave tech presentations to potential partners, VCs and customers in the Law Enforcement arena. Manned booths at exhibits, etc. Managed all of the US staff and operations.
  • Polygon GmBh 1999 – VP North American Operations for the parent German company. Performed similar duties to Polygeneys, Inc.
  • 1999 to current – Founder and Executive Director of The Corneal Dystrophy Foundation. a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping people with corneal dystrophies.

Bob resides with his wife, Monica, in the Almaden Valley, a suburb of San Jose, California.
