Develop and execute programs to increase visibility and sales of business critical servers using Linux and Windows.

Designed and deployed wins promotion program to engage the field with selling Windows and Linux solutions on HP Integrity (Itanium) and ProLiant DL785 servers.

For HP partners, developed and promoted HP/partner joint discount and bundling programs to expedite sales of solutions with long selling cycles.

Created “mission critical Linux” marketing materials including presentations, customer stories, brochures and special solution pieces focused on Oracle, SAP and Sun migration.

HP OpenVMS Partner Marketing Manager
Business Critical Servers (1999 – 2007)
Engage and retain software partners, expand field and channel sales awareness.

Drove ISV engagement, management and marketing programs for large numbers of ISVs, primarily targeted at getting partners to port their software to the new hardware platform, HP’s Integrity (Itanium) servers.

  • Results of this multiyear program netted availability of more than 1000 applications on Itanium servers running the OpenVMS operating system.
  • These programs were considered best practices and were implemented across the Business Critical Servers Division.
  • HP’s Business Solution CD was a key deliverable which was produced in a multi-OS version and packaged with all Integrity Servers.
  • Ran regular events targeted at bringing field, key customers and ISVs together. Results of these events were increased sales for partners, increased HP hardware sales and increased customer satisfaction.

Built teams of ISVs, channel partners and systems integrators to facilitate sales and implement total solutions. Key example of success with Atlanta-based Seagull Software.

Developed customer and business partner presentations, with focus on strategic business value messages (rather than just product detail) – very well received and utilized by the field.

COMPAQ COMPUTER CORPORATION

NT Enterprise Software Marketing Manager, Commercial Software Products

Manager of Product Marketing for Compaq Enterprise Suite for Microsoft Exchange, a set of software products implemented to extend the enterprise capabilities of Microsoft Exchange to include unified messaging, knowledge management, workflow and archival/retrieval.

Led a product marketing team responsible for strategic marketing, field and customer communications, analyst/press relations, field, service and channel readiness, and industry and customer events, including customer advisory boards.

Developed and supported $100 million per year revenue stream

Collaborated with Microsoft to deploy joint go-to-market programs focused on Exchange.

Leveraged highly profitable services and hardware upgrades by promoting our software as key solution components.

DIGITAL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION

Enabled continuing revenue from 4 million seat email installed base by providing support for their strategic choices of staying with OpenVMS or moving to Windows NT with Microsoft Exchange (services and software to extend Exchange capabilities).

  • Opthalmology, particularly cornea and external disease, transplant, cataract and refractive surgeries.
  • Since 2000, led two internet support groups for people with corneal disease, supplementing knowledge provided by doctors and providing a patient advocacy service. Current memberships: more than 3000 people worldwide.
  • Developed 2005 Corneal Dystrophy Symposium, first in a series of yearly events held at various locations throughout the USA, bringing patients and doctors together for sharing of information on latest research and advancement of surgical techniques.
  • Detailed knowledge of diseases, symptoms, tests, surgical procedures and surgical alternatives.
