Thank you for your interest in the Fuchs’ Friends’ Community online, the original online support and knowledge group for those with Fuchs’ Corneal Dystrophy (FCD) or for those who support or care for them.

The Fuchs' Friends’ Community is the original online support group for Fuchs’ Corneal Dystrophy, is an outreach entity of The Corneal Dystrophy Foundation.

To ensure that you have a positive and protected experience within our group, we have designed a join process that provides protection for those who are joining or are currently members of the group. 

You will be led through some required steps but you will reach your goal; to connect with others who had the same vision issues and have been able to achieve better sight.  The following is a short description of the steps to better vision in your future:

  • This welcome page and, after you have read and understood it, a chance to continue with the process of joining the Fuchs’ Friends’ Community.
  • You will then be presented with a new page that contains:
    • Our current terms and conditions of membership.
    • Agreements between you and The Corneal Dystrophy Foundation about the material you will be able to access and The Corneal Dystrophy Foundation’s ownership rights; what you can and cannot do with our material.
    • Boundaries of behavior, spelled out to prevent issues between members and also between members and owners/moderators.
    • Choices to make:
      • Decline membership.
      • Go to the next page to apply for membership through Yahoo (required by Yahoo)
  • On completion of the above steps, Yahoo will inform us of your intention to join our group and we will send you a link to our information questionnaire.
    • All information on this form is required to be completed prior your final acceptance into the Fuchs’ Friends’ Community.
    • We will keep your full name strictly private.  We will address you by your first name and introduce you by first name and location.
    • The rest of the information (age, year diagnosed, etc.) is being compiled for use by corneal dystrophy research programs.
    • At no time will we provide your name or email to persons or organizations outside The Corneal Dystrophy Foundation without your express written permission.
