To help people who suffer from Corneal Dystrophy understand how much improvement can be gained by undergoing transplant surgery
we offer these stories. Each entry below will link you to a PDF display of a very personal story through Transplant.
Skye’s Husband’s story - Skye, a member since mid 2009, told this story in June, 2010. Her husband was diagnosed with corneal dystrophy three years ago during a cataract surgery preoperative check. He elected to have the cataract surgery and things got worse instead of better. But I’ll let you read about it in Skye’s own words.
Maureen’s Story - Maureen has been a member of our support group since late 2008. She wrote this story in September 2009 as an encouragement to another member not to wait before having corneal transplants because of the possible consequences. Maureen describes her problems pre transplant and and also some post transplant but is adamant about the desirability of not waiting.
Bob B’s Right Eye Transplant Story Bob (San
Jose, Ca.) has undergone two transplants. He decided to keep a diary or log on the second one to tell other people how his sight has been improved.
How I Came to Have Two Different Transplants
Deloris (Chicago, IL) is one of the few people in our Fuchs’ Dystrophy group who not only has had transplants on both eyes; the types of corneal transplants and the results are
drastically different. This is a must read.
